If the objections are approved, it could put the implementation of the Peace Agreement at risk. This would block access to justice, truth, and guarantees of non-repetition for some 8.5 million victims and deny more than 49 million Colombians the chance of peace and reconciliation
In 2016, after more than 50 years of conflict in Colombia, the government and the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) signed a peace agreement which was meant to end the longest-running armed conflict in the Americas. In March 2019, the national government decided to object six articles of the JEP (Special Jurisdiction for Peace). This threatens access to reparations for the individuals and families, including children, who were victims of the conflict.
If the objections are approved, it could put the implementation of the Peace Agreement at risk. This would block access to justice, truth, and guarantees of non-repetition for some 8.5 million victims and deny more than 49 million Colombians the chance of peace and reconciliation.
President Ivan Duque can't question the peace agreement in Colombia! In Chocó, one of the departments most affected by the war and forgotten by the government, 9,544 people had to leave their homes in 2017, leaving behind everything they knew and loved.
Join this action and send a message to President Ivan Duque to support and defend the truth, justice, reparation, and non-repetition that Peace can achieve.
